Composition 3 (Hampstead Heath Series), 2024
This photo is part of a series that was created in Hampstead Heath Park, located to the north of London. It is inspired by a fascination with the forms and colors found within this park, as well as in nature more broadly. The movement of the camera plays a significant role in the final image, introducing an element of chance into the process. This approach not only results in a less objective representation of nature, but the abstraction it creates fosters a deeper emotional connection with the depicted landscape. As a result, the images take on a painterly quality.
The series was captured using a medium-format analog camera (Pentax 67). The negatives were scanned in Scotland using a drum scanner to achieve the highest possible image quality. The final, edited photographs are printed on premium Hahnemühle paper, mounted on aluminum, and framed in beautiful beechwood frames.
